Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Kinva ("we", "our") operates the website kinniva.com, a free service for learning academic English vocabulary. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We believe in collecting the minimum data needed to run the service well.

Information we collect

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and the interface language you choose. As you use Kinva we store your learning progress (which words you have reviewed and how well you know them), the answers you save on daily practice posts, and any comments or likes you choose to make publicly. We never ask for, and never store, sensitive information such as government IDs, payment details, or your precise location.

How your data is stored and protected

Account data and learning progress are stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, protected by industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Passwords are handled entirely by Google's authentication service — our own code never sees or stores your password. Access rules ensure that your private data (your progress and your saved answers) can be read and changed only by you: no other user can ever see them.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser local storage to remember your language, sound preferences, and session so you stay logged in. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.

Advertising

We display advertisements through Google AdSense to keep Kinva free. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. For more information on how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

What we never do

We never sell your personal data. We never share your email with third parties for marketing. We never show one user's private answers or learning progress to another user.

Your rights

You may delete your saved answers at any time from within the app, and you may permanently delete your entire account and all associated data yourself from your profile in the app. You may also request deletion, or a copy of the data we hold about you, by contacting us — we will respond within 30 days.

Children

Kinva is an educational service suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above. Significant changes will be announced inside the app.
